INTRODUCTION

The Lord Jesus was not officially called "the Comforter" by any of His followers, but He told them that the coming of the Holy Ghost would be God’s means of sending them "another Comforter" (John 14:16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
See All...). During His earthly ministry, the Lord Jesus worked in the lives of those who followed Him. He was their Comforter. When He went to the Father, the Father sent "another Comforter" and He is the Holy Ghost. Each person who is born again by the grace of God has the Holy Spirit of God dwelling within (Romans 8:9But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
See All...). When troubles come, and they do, the believer has living within himself, a person of the Godhead that specializes in comforting the afflicted.

• If comfort is strength that you can carry with you , how does the Holy Spirit perfectly fit the description of "the Comforter"? How is He strength that can be carried with you?
• How can the comfort of the Holy Spirit be a wonderful evidence of salvation? Where does a lost person get his comfort? How is comfort different in the life of a saved person?
